Snow and Forgiveness in Witch City

Well, here I am down at the church a few minutes before 8am, and wondering if anyone will be coming today. A parking snowban is on, and it's still snowing away out side, but it was a nice walk from home (about 12-15 minutes).

It sure is pretty outside, and resembles comments from scripture about sins being forgiven and being made white as snow.

Thanks for your post Phil. I staggered out into the snow this morning too, even in the midst of finals, and the darkest days of the year, I was humbled at the beauty of the Creation...

How, as the Sun is still almost its furthest from us, a time the Ancients feared, and even with (or because of!) our modern science we realize just how fragile life is- how a few hundred thousand miles could stand between this Earthly paradise, or an ever-frosty Pluto, locked in ice and devoid of life...

And yet, in the heart of winter when the Earth comes closest to that literal "outer darkness"...

...we wake up and find, for a few brief hours, a world that GLOWS.
